What is Pregabid CR?

  • Pregabid CR contains Pregabalin which has extended release pattern of the drug
  • Due to unique extended release, it has advantage of once daily administration
  • It is available in 2 strengths i.e. 82.5 mg and 165 mg

What conditions does Pregabid CR treat?

  • Pregabid CR is used for treatment of peripheral neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves) in adults.
  • It is indicated in all peripheral neuropathic pain conditions like trigeminal neuralgia, postherpetic neuralgia, post-amputation pain, diabetic neuropathy, painful radiculopathy.

What is the most important information I should know about Pregabid CR?

  • Pregabid CR tablets should be administered once daily after an evening meal ( at same time each day)
  • Take Pregabid CR exactly as prescribed. Your healthcare provider will tell you how much Pregabid CR to take and when to take it.
  • Your healthcare provider may change your dose. Do not change your dose without talking to your healthcare provider.
  • Pregabid CR tablets should be swallowed whole and should not be split, crushed, or chewed.
  • Pregabid CR tablets should be administered once daily after an evening meal.
  • When discontinuing pregabalin extended release tablets, taper gradually over a minimum of 1 week.
  • If you miss taking the dose of pregabalin extended release tablets after an evening meal, then you should take your prescribed usual dose of pregabalin extended release tablets prior to bedtime following a snack.
  • If you miss taking the dose of pregabalin extended release tablets prior to bedtime, then you should take the prescribed usual dose of pregabalin extended release tablets following a morning meal.
  • If you miss taking the dose of pregabalin extended release tablets following the morning meal, then you should take the prescribed usual dose of pregabalin extended release tablets at the usual time that evening following an evening meal.
  • Do not stop taking Pregabid CR without talking to your healthcare provider. If you stop taking Pregabid CR suddenly you may have headaches, nausea, diarrhoea, trouble sleeping, or you may feel anxious. If you have epilepsy, are taking Pregabid CR for pain, and stop taking Pregabid CR suddenly, you may have seizures more often. Talk with your healthcare provider about how to stop Pregabid CR slowly.
